X-ray astronomy ~ Dr. Sebastian von Harrach
X-rays were discovered in 1895, but X-ray astronomy did not start until the 1960s. You can guess why. My talk will take you through the history of discoveries of intensely hot X-ray sources in the universe, starting from earth and ending in, or rather close to black holes. But don’t expect too much – I only started learning about the subject a couple of months ago!
