Ramblings of an English Astronomer ~ Ian Sharp

Ian will give an introduction to his background in astronomy and show some examples of his images – both deep sky and solar system.

Ian will discuss and show images of his observatory outside Selsey and discuss how he set about motorising and fully automating the dome, telescope and cameras.

He will discuss his old and new observatories in Spain transitioning from a 4” refractor to a new 11” reflector and discuss the photometry he does for his various research projects. Finally Ian will talk about his recent trip to Barbados with Damian Peach showing images and some example videos of Jupiter and Saturn and how they turned out as hi-res images after processing. He will explain why they travelled to Barbados.
