Fly Me To The Moon ~ Dr. Chris Arridge

Putting humans on another world was a great technological leap, made all the greater by the fact that when that goal was decided we were only just beginning to launch humans into space.  It was a leap taken by thousands of engineers, designers, scientists, astronauts and more.  It was also a leap taken by human society and was a human journey.  In this talk I will use photographs from Project Apollo and Apollo-Era documents to explore how you design a space mission.  We'll look at how people decided to go on a journey that's never been taken before, look at what choices people argued for, and made, in designing a space mission, and look at what those people were like.
